Black Ops Dedicated Servers Come At A Price.

When you heard that COD : Black Ops is going to have Dedicated servers you most likely thought "ZOMG NO MOAR LAGZ N WAITIN WHEN HOST RAGEZ" Well that is what I thought anyway.

The grass on the other side might be greener but it still has a few dog turds were going to have to deal with as Activision and Treyarch announced that GameServers.com will have a deal that makes them the exclusive dedicated server provider when the game launches. Here's what the money grabbing arse pokers at Activation said

"We are extremely excited about this unprecedented relationship with Activision to offer dedicated servers exclusively for Black Ops", said GameServers CEO David Aninowsky. "We are placing a great amount of pressure on ourselves to ensure that we exceed any and all expectations."

Well i had a quick look around the GamerServers website the average price for a server is around $15 for a 18 slot.

"if players want to run a dedicated Ranked or Unranked server on the PC, they will have to rent one through GameServers," "Treyarch will be providing a fleet of 'Day-1 Servers' (through GameServers) which will be up and operational on November 9th.

"Nobody will have to rent a dedicated server through GameServers in order to play the game," says Olin. "But for anybody who wants to run their own server, it will be run from GameServers.com."


Moral of the story? Activation and Treyarch are still a bunch of cunts and I would bet my cats life that within the week of release there was be cracked servers.

    I agree, everyones out to make a buck. No matter how much it may hurt their product. Of course someone will have a hacked server up in no time once they hear they will HAVE to pay to host a game.

    useless mind, your clueless, you have no idea how gameservers work xD - don't even try and come back. and to mayfair - it happens, it will probs take pretty decent hardware so $15 is reasonable, I'll get my servers for free though because of my sponsor so :) <3

    Slumph you're Clueless, they are abusing and killing what made once made PC gaming special and that was freedom to do what the hell you wanted with your game such as Modding, hosting your own server and such. Enjoy playing a 2nd rate xbox ported game full of pre-teen's and feeling superior when you beat them.

    omfg the COD series has really declined in quality. anybody remember cod: uo? that game was the shit because of the modding community. these new fuckin COD games barely even have a handful of good mods (if any, i didnt play ONE mod on modern warfare 2)
